Q: My wife is now using my last name in Canada as her family name. Can the translator replace the last name that appears on my wife’s university certificate with the family name that is currently in use?
A: The translator cannot change the last name. Many of our clients found the correspondence from the Canadian embassies overseas very helpful to resolve this issue. In some cases,
appropriate cultural explanation will suffice.

Q: My driver license only shows the expiry date. Can the translator add the date of issue?
A: The translator will” mirror” the information on the document and for this reason, cannot add a date that does not originally exist. Our clients were successful in resolving this matter by contacting their respective embassies and requesting a letter of explanation.

Q: I don’t want to mail the original document to the translator. I have only one copy of it and cannot afford to lose it! Are there any other options?
A: To guarantee the proper receipt of the original document by the translator, most of our clients have used prepaid national or regional Xpresspost service, or any other method of their choice. Please remember to include a pre-paid self addressed courier envelop in this package. This envelope will be used by the translator to send back your original document and the translation.
Another option would be to have your original document photocopied and certified by a lawyer or a notary public in your area; however, the cost for this service varies and may in some instances exceed the cost of using the courier service!
